Saving OOGL files from Geomview:
If you have used Mathematica, Maple or FrontStage to generate some
geometry that is being displayed in Geomview, you may want to save it
to a file so that you can load it in again using StageManager and
include it into a movie that you are making.
To save an object from Geomview as an OOGL file:
- Open the Save Panel in Geomview (on the SGIs there is a
button for this on the Tools Panel, and it is also listed in
the tools selector on the Main Panel; on the Suns there
is a Save item in the File menu).
- On the Save Panel there is a type-in area where you should put the
name of the object you want to save (this is the name as it
appears in the Targets list on the Main Panel).
- Near this type-in is a selector that lets you choose what type of
information to save. You should probably select either Geometry
Alone or Geometry in World. The second of these will
include the current position of the object so that when you load it in
it will appear at the same location.
- Finally, type in the name of the file where you want the
OOGL file to be saved and press return.
You can now load the file into a StageManager movie using the
StageManager Load
command.
