Tool + Protocol for Communication
For tools that do not permit you to annotate a session directly, you
can provide a separate document to describe the appropriate steps in
using a software tool. The "reader" needs to have access to a copy of
the protocol and a copy of the tool software at the same time.
- Excellent way to examine results obtained online, when audience has access to the right tool(s).
- Involves the least-enjoyable aspects of documenting code and writing papers.
- Portability depends on the nature of the tools involved.
