Geometery Center TeX resources

Following one of the links below will display the standard documentation for that command, usually a man page or info page.

Standard User Commands

• tex
• amstex
• latex
• lamstex
• bibtex
• slitex

• latex2e -- newest version of latex
• amslatex -- use under LaTeX or LaTeX 2e

Printing

• dvips -- sends dvi files to default printer

Previewing

• xdvi -- use under X (i.e. on SGIs and NeXTs running co-Xist)
• TeXview -- use under NeXTstep (in /LocalApps)

TeX converters

• il2tex -- prepares illustrations for LaTex from Adobe Illustrator files
• latex2html -- converts latex to html.
• texi2dvi -- for use with texinfo (see texinfo below). (see above.)
• texi2html -- (see texinfo below).

Other TeX Tools

• geom.sty -- a LeTeX macro package that facilitates inclusion of figures, introduces more flexibility in theorem environments, and other useful features. (Documentation in /u/share/lib/geomsty.)
• etex -- extended plain tex (Out of date. Documentation available via ftp at ftp.cs.umb.edu.)
• texinfo -- produces TeX and Gnu info files from a single source file. (Documentation available from within info.)
• TeXEdit -- a menu driven integrated tex editor and previewer for NeXT (In /LocalApps. Consult online help from within TeXEdit.)
