Summer Institutes for Teachers

  For teachers of Grades 5 through 12

  This course was an innovative in-service program on geometric reasoning, visualization, and technology. Participants in the course

  • Used software tools, videos, and manipulatives.
  • Explored published and preliminary materials.
  • Created materials to use in the classroom.

• June 17-28, 1996
  By Invitation Only

  This course was an opportunity for teachers who have participated in previous Geometry Center Summer Institutes to return and do follow-up work on their projects.

Summer Institute for Students

• June 10 - August 9, 1996
  For undergraduate students in mathematics or computer science

  The best features of an intership and an intensive learning experience were combined in the exciting and creative atmosphere of the Geometry Center. Participants in the course

  • Earned a stipend working on a project team.
  • Joined an ongoing research project into mathematical software, communication, or education.
  • Learned from skilled researchers at the crossroads of mathematics and computer science.
