The categories below represent some of the areas of research investigated by visitors to the Geometry Center. This is not meant to be an inclusive list of all types of research occuring at the Center, but only as a sample of visual nature of some of thes
e projects.

- Combinatorics
- Enumeration problems, and other problems involving counting.
- Complex
Analysis
- Research involving maps of one or more
complex variables.
- Computational Geometry
- Understanding algorithms that solve problems in Geometry.
- Differential Geometry
- Using differential calculus to study curves and surfaces in space.
- Dynamical Systems
- Modelling the time-evolution of the state of a physical system of quantities, attempting to understand all possible long-term behaviors.
- Hyperbolic Geometry
- One of the non-Euclidean geometries, hyperbolic geometry is a rich area of active research.
- Modeling and Simulation
- Research involving the use of computers to model the real world.
- Summer Institute
- Tilings
- Regular subdivisions of the plane or space.
- Topology
- Properties of objects that don't change when they are stretched or twisted.
