Transportation to the Center:
The Geometry Center is located on the West Bank campus of the
University of Minnesota, about a 15-minute walk from the main campus
on the East Bank, on the 5th floor of the West Bank Office Building.
This building is a large concrete-and-glass structure overlooking
I-35W. It has red strips and "University of Minnesota" in large red
letters on the side.
There are several ways to get to the Geometry Center from the
Minneapolis/St. Paul airport:
- Taxi cab, costing approximately $20.00-$25.00.
- A shuttle van run by Airport Express will take you to your hotel
for $10.00 (or $15.50 round trip). Arrangements for the van can be
made at the Ground Transportation Desk on the baggage-claim level.
- The route #7 local city bus (MCTO) runs every 20 to 30 minutes
(4:00 am until midnight) and passes by the Geometry Center. Exit the
airport on the baggage-claim level at the exit marked with the city
bus sign. Follow the signs to the bus stop and take the #7 headed for
downtown Minneapolis (not the one to the Mall of America). The cost
is $1.25 during rush hour ($1.00 off-peak hours). The driver can not
make change. The bus takes about 45 minutes to get Washington and
12th Street, where you should get off for the Geometry Center.
